-Warning 1: Copy UNUSABLE unless directly connected to a powered up computer, with the HP software installed.
-Warning 2: Copy and Scan UNUSABLE over an Airport Express (and others?) wireless network.
-Fairness Statement 1: Box DOES note that "scan and copy through software only".
-Fairness Statement 2: Everything DOES work as expected, when directly connected via USB to single computer.
-Fairness Statement 3: Printing DOES work as expected, when wirelessly connected.
-Ridiculous 1: My previous Deskjet (C3180) could copy fine without a computer. Why would functionality be REMOVED in the newer model?
-Ridiculous 2: "scan and copy through software only" note needs to be clarified. Had I noticed this before purchase, I still would have assumed copy would function without a computer, because that's how my previous Deskjet works.
-Ridiculous 3: Copy still doesn't work if I'm connected over a wireless network? Seriously?
-Ridiculous 4: I called HP Tech Support just to verify that copy would not work without a computer, and they insisted it would, contradicting their own documents and note on the box. However, the tech support could give no instructions on how to do so.
-Rating Explanation: One star lost for loss of copy functionality. One star lost for tech support and documentation disagreement. One star lost due to only PARTIAL wireless functionality.
-Note to HP: PLEASE stop designing these with the paper output on top of the paper input. Please? An optional rear upright input tray maybe, to make everybody happy?
