This scanner handles most snapshot sizes and handles them very quickly. If you have hundreds of snapshots you want to digitize and don't feel comfortable sending them out to a service, this is a good solution. It's also quite compact, just 9"x5.5"x1.5", so you can pack it up with your laptop and scan those photos your relatives won't part with next time you visit.

Ectaco C-Pen 20 Handheld Scanner Review

Ectaco C-Pen 20 Handheld Scanner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a scholar who works with books and other printed sources a lot, I have long been on the lookout for an easy way to scan text into my laptop. I've tried using both flatbed scanners and digital cameras for this purpose, but I've found both to be awkward and time-consuming. That's why I was pleased to discover the C-Pen 20 - it's not perfect, but it does the job quicker and more easily than any of the alternatives.
PROS:
- It's easy to use; you just press the pointer to the page and a light comes on to let you know that the sensor is active. You then sweep the C-Pen from left to right at moderate speed as if it were a highlighter, and it converts the text on the page into electronic characters on your computer.
- The text instantly appears wherever the cursor on your screen is located, so you can use this device with just about any Windows program (e.g., Word, Access, etc.).
- The recognition rate is higher than I thought it would be; it's better than 99% on book-sized text. In practical terms, this means that you'll get one or two errors on average per paragraph, but these flaws are easily corrected (particularly if your spell checker highlights them for you automatically).
- It's small and easily portable, so you can take it with you to libraries and archives with a laptop.
CONS:
- The character recognition is sometimes thrown off by underlining and other marks on the page.
- You must use it with a PC or laptop that has a USB port (it doesn't run on batteries like some scanning pens).
- Even though it recognizes just about every major language written in Latin, Cyrillic, or Greek letters, it can't handle older typefaces (like German Fraktur). It also has trouble recognizing some symbols (such as footnotes).
- You have to scan each line of text one at a time, so it's not necessarily the best solution if you need to copy many pages of text.
The bottom line is that the C-Pen 20 has been an excellent investment for me, and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for an easy way to transfer printed text into an electronic medium.

Neat Co. Neat Desk - Macintosh Review

Neat Co. Neat Desk - Macintosh
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I really really really wanted to like this scanner. I received the unit on Friday and had planned on spending Saturday scanning in all my documents and then relaxing on Sunday. I am sooooo disappointed with the quality of the scans and software when scanning in documents like car insurance or doctors statements that I am sending it back.
The main issue is that the manufacture's web site states that the scanner can scan grayscale and B/W documents in at a rate of 25 PPM. This is an outright lie on one level and a stretching of the truth on another level.
First let me start off with the truth stretching. The scanner is very fast while scanning in B/W images but it did not seam like it was 25 PPM fast so I timed it using a stop watch. I was able to scan in a page (two sides) in 6.4 seconds that's 10 PPM not 25! As Fujitsu rates their ScanSnap S1500M at 20 PPM whether you scan one or two sides, I assumed I would see the NeatDesk scanner do the same. Thinking that they (NeatCo) must have been playing with some slick marketing numbers when they came up with the 25 PPM rate I figured I would see the 10 PPM rate double to 20 if I only scanned one side of a page instead of two. I was very disappointed to see that the rate did not change between one or two sides. Normally I would think that 10 PPM is a very quick scan, which it is, but it is more than half as fast as advertised.
That was the truth stretching now onto the lie.
My main complaint is not the scan rate of B/W or grayscale scans. I would be very happy with a 10 PPM grayscale document scanner. The problem is that the scanner / software package does NOT scan in grayscale. The scanner DOES send the images to my iMac in GRAYSCALE and then the horrible software converts it to B/W. Yes you heard me right! They take a perfectly legible (8 bit, 256 levels of black) grayscale image and turn it into a very poor quality B/W (2 bit, 2 color) illegible image. I can't for the life of me understand why they would do such a thing.
If you are only interested in scanning in receipts, which by their nature are only black and white, then you might be happy with the software. Unfortunately about 95% of the stuff I wanted to scan is various types of documents / kids school work / insurance papers / medical records etc. If you have ever looked at these kinds of documents you will notice that most of them have shaded areas on the page that highlight important text. These shaded areas, along with the text, usually become unreadable when converted to B/W. Not only can I not able to read them the OCR can't detect them either. It makes me angry to see a scan show up on the screen that looks GREAT only to have it destroyed a few seconds later by the software as it converts it to black and white.

I contacted NeatCo about the ability to scan to grayscale. Their support person was very nice and polite; unfortunately she confirmed for me that the software does not support grayscale. Her response is at the end of the review. You may think that I should just scan in color. Unfortunately scanning in color is very slow. A color scan took 15 seconds for a single sided page and 27.5 seconds for a single 2-sided page (weird that color scans do double the time for 2 sides unlike the BW option). At this rate it puts color scans in at 2 PPM not the 8.5 reported on their web site. At 2 PPM it will take me several hundred hours to scan everything I need to scan.
The quality of color scans is very good if you are willing to wait 30 seconds for a single 2-sided scan.
Here are my timing results for the BW, color, 1 side and 2 sided document. All times are for a single sheet of paper.
Page Sides |Color Mode |Time to Scan|Total time to scan & OCR 1st page
1 |Color| 15 sec|52 sec
2 |color| 27 sec| 1:15 (m:sec)
1 |BW| 6.4 sec| 36 sec
2 |BW| 6.5 sec| 40 secJust for reference I have a late 2008 24'' iMac with 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 gigs of ram. I have also updated the NeatDesk software to their latest version as of 10/30/2009 which is 2.1.9
I have taken some screen shots of the grayscale images before they are converted to BW and will try to post them to Amazon. In the screen shots you can see that the initial image looks very nice. If NeatCo fixes this issue the package might be worth a look. Here is the NeatCo response to my grayscale question.
Response (Campbell) - 10/29/2009 08:45 PM
Hi Chris,
There's no way to set to scan in a gray scale at this time. I will put in a feature request to our developers so they can include this capability in future releases.Question Reference #091029-000359

Epson Perfection 1200U USB Flatbed Scanner Review

Epson Perfection 1200U USB Flatbed Scanner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My former scanner by Microtek was difficult to set up and did not work until I searched for hours in the documentation and on Microtek's web site and finally found a rather complicated answer. I still have to apply the "fix" to any computer I use the Microtek scanner with.
In contrast, the Epson Perfection 1200 USB Scanner was a breeze to set up. I just plugged the USB cable in with my computer already on, turned the scanner on and Windows 98 detected the scanner and the "Add Driver" wizard came up. Just point that to your CD drive to load the drivers and that's it.
The scanner is very fast and quiet. The twain interface is as good or better then any I've seen. The quality of the scans is top-notch across the board, from color to contrast to shadow depth.
I choose this scanner based on a ZdNet review of Epson's 636 USB scanner which won their editors choice award. They said it works especially well with Epson Color printers which I found to be the case too.
With a hardware resolution 1200 x 2400 dpi, the Epson Perfection 1200 USB scanner has higher optical resolution than any other scanner in it's price range. It's a real bargain.
Tips: Whatever graphics program you use, set up an ICM color profile. Or use the ICM profile of your monitor. Adobe Photoshop comes with a utility to do this. Then in the twain interface of your scanner click the "Use ICM" check box. Then your scans will look more like the originals when viewed on-screen. If you have an Epson printer (I have the Stylus Color 740), when you print choose the "Epson Stylus Color 740" profile from the "color space" list. If you have another printer it should show up in the list too. This info is for printing from Photoshop, but other graphics programs should be similar.
Scans printed from my Epson printer look almost identical to the original including color tone and depth.
I use this scanner primarily for professional web design and personal photograph reproduction.
Overall it's just a great scanner and I'm very happy with it.

I have started to scan negatives that are more than 20 years old. Obviously the quality is directly tied to the quality of the original image. Good negatives have resulted iin good scans for me. And tools are available to tweek the image and make improvements. I am not a PC Scanner photoshop pro, but the controls and instructions are very intuitive.
I recommend that you make a purchase of additional slide/film trays to speed the scanning process. I am pleased with the outcomes of this fine product.

Canon CanoScan N670U Flatbed Scanner Review

Canon CanoScan N670U Flatbed Scanner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This scanner is a great buy. Whoever designed this should win some sort of award; it doesn't need a power cord and draws it's power from the supplied USB cable. This is the smallest 8.5x11 flatbed scanner I've ever seen. It is truly portable--about the size of a couple of legal pads stacked on top of each other. It takes up very little space on your desk. The quality of color photo scans is also clear and vibrant for a scanner in this price range; it's not professional quality, but at this price, who's complaining? Most importantly, this is the most usable of any scanner I've ever seen. I had this baby up and running in under 5 minutes and making great scans of some photos from last summer. It's one touch mode is great; it's easy to set up and customize each of the 3 front buttons. I'm still amazed at how well-designed and usable this scanner is. Highly recommended for home or small office use.

With a slim design and a single cord for both power and data, the Canon CanoScan N670U adds minimal mess to your desk while offering a number of instantly accessible scanning options. The USB connection and plug-and-play installation will have you up and running in no time, while the one-touch buttons allow you to e-mail, print, and copy images without referring to a user's manual.
The unique Z-lid design expands the scan area to accommodate bulky originals, such as magazines and textbooks, but the total depth of the scanner is a mere 1.4 inches. The maximum scan size is 8.5 x 11.7 inches. Images are enriched by the 48-bit color depth, while monochrome documents receive excellent clarity and legibility via 16-bit grayscale. With a maximum resolution of 600 x 1,200 dpi, your scans will display crisp detail and process at a speed ideally suited to the serious hobbyist.
The N670U is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, ME, and XP, as well as Macintosh 8.6 or higher. Included in the box is a software bundle that allows users to edit and process their images with ease. Canon provides a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

the day after i ordered this i went to manufacturer website only to learn that this scanner only allows you to use it on ONE COMPUTER. if you want to install it on another computer you have to BUY a license. I wanted to use it when i travel with laptop but if installed on home desktop
i would NOT be able to use on laptop WITHOUT ANOTHER LICENSE.
no where here in the ad does it mention that fact. contacted copusa but they had shipped and i was told to just refuse the ups shipment when it came, which i did, so they are returning to shipper.
lets see how fast compusa gives refund
meanwhile i ordered pandigital scanner which works like a dream and which i can install on a billion computers if i choose.

Owned 2 of these over the years, one when they were released, just purchased a second to replace my old one (years of dumping coffee, paint, etc on the glas finally caught up to me) - they are durable and reliable scanners, also fast (well, maybe not as fast as some new ones, but fast enough for me, doing 600dpi 8x10 scans often)
Would recommend if you can find a used/refurb. Otherwise buy the current version of this edition from Epson.

Canon PhotoCyan BCI-6PC Genuine Canon Ink Tank Review

Canon PhotoCyan BCI-6PC Genuine Canon Ink Tank
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although lower cost substitute ink cartridges are sold all over the web, and on this site as well, the few bucks you might save aren't worth the all-too genuine risks of replacing with generic "no-name" ink tanks. I've heard (but wouldn't wish to try it, frankly) that generic inks fade faster when exposed to daylight, could clog the print-head spray nozzles, don't spread properly on top-quality paper, and simply can't compare with the uniquely formulated dyes that have been specially researched for your printer and its matching photo papers. The one exception might be if you use a black-ink-only inkjet [hard to imagine anyone could screw up black ink]. I concur that printer manufacturers use that old hoary "razor trick" (give away the razor, profit on the blades), but with Canon's individual ink tanks -- where you replace only those tanks that run dry, you aren't out a lot. My Canon photo printer uses an array of six ink tank colors. Of these six tanks (all available on this site), 'photo cyan' and 'photo magenta' seem to be used up 2 to 3 times faster than 'black'. In other words, rather than replacing an entire set of six ink tanks, you can replace just those tanks that run empty the soonest -- thus not having to toss out a 3-ink tank [as used by HP] where 2 of the 3 remaining inks still are far from used up. Just a word of caution here - make certain that every cartridge you order from Amazon clearly states its eligibility for SuperSaver shipping. If you have to add shipping charges to this low-cost item, you could end up paying more than you would have at the local office supply store.

Canon PIXMA MP490 Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer (3745B002) Review

Canon PIXMA MP490 Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer (3745B002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the third Canon Pixma printer we have owned. The first two were blown out by power surges (we have extraordinarily unreliable and variable power in the islands).
The first Pixma printer we bought is something of a legend for it's inexpensive cartridges which could be purchased retail (OEM) for less than $10 apiece. When we bought that, we already had several other printers in the house, at least 1 unused. The issue we had with each of the others (a Dell, an HP and an Epson) was that the printer cartridges cost as much as, or more than, the printer itself. If you already have a printer, you know that the manufacturers are using the Gillette razor model; pricing the printers low, and gauging on the ink. The cost for a replacement cartridge for my HP laser was around $200, the Epson, around $100, and the Dell (which came free with the computer) cost over $100. Since this is a home printer we cared less about print quality, and more aboiut reasonable operating cost. i have not yet printed any photos and so can not comment on print quality in that regard, though Canon claims it is a high point.
I will say that the print quality on our first 2 Pixmas was somewhat less than ideal. I was able to remedy that by printing on high (photo quality). On our new printer, the MP 490, the print quality is better, BUT, unfortunately the cartridges cost more. They still cost at least 1/3 less than those for comparable printers, but are not as reasonable as on prior models. This is what took a star off in my rating.
In terms of features and ease of use:
this printer fixes an annoying issue we had with the other 2 pixmas. the cartridges are easier to change. You no longer have to hold the door up or have it hover at an awkward angle.
My kids like the digital read out, and, I will note for those new to the line; Canon printers keep track of ink use. The software logs cartridge changes and lets you know when you are running low on either (black or multi-color) ink. Often this is a bit off. that is, you can get a few more prints after it tells you it is out. This is a nice feature. I have had the experience of running out of ink while printing a 100 page document on my HP, only finding out that half the pages came up blank after the entire document ran.
On wimdows machines, set up is very easy: plug & play. It will work without loading extra printer drivers. I can not comment on this with regard to macs, since w do not have one.
You can switch to scan or print with the touch of a button. Both of these functions work flawlessly.
The other feature this machine offers over our old pixmas is a card reader. You can take a card out of your camera and print direct from the machine without going through a computer. (Most of the newer printers offer this feature, so this will set it apart in comparison to last gen. printers, rather than other brands).
It also has a very small footprint; not much larger than is required for a letter size scanner. It is not as small as a portable, but very compact for a desk top printer.
All in all it is a VERY nice printer for the money. We got it for an insanely low price during Amazon's 'black friday week" sale. Even at full retail it costs roughly the same or less than comparable printers. The primary reason we bought this was for the lower price ink cartridges. In that regard, the saving are not quite what they were on older models of the Pixma, but are still less costly than for other brands. We have owned Pixma printers for more than 10 years now and have been very happy with them overall, or I would not have purchased a third.
Update:
After 6 months of usi9ng this printer I needed to replace the ink. (note: this printer is attached to my childrens' machine and hence does not get as much use as mu own). i am now substantially less happy with the printer and probably would not buy another. If I were writing the review now, I'd give it 3 instead of 4 stars. Why?
1) Replacing the ink cost more than the printer.
2) When the black ink ran out we were unable to use the printer evewn though there was still ink in the color cartridge.
While the ink may cost less than some it should not cost as much as the printer!
Canon has been advertising that they were the solution to overpriced ink. Instead, it seems, they've decided that this is a pretty good way to make money.
This is Way far from the perfect printer.
I'm now shopping for another OLD Canon for my kids. My old Canon is still running on $10 cartridges (less if I use generic!)
I do not want to buy ink which costs as much as a new printer every 6 months! I hope Canon hears this. they have just lost a heretofore loyal customer.

Canon Pixma PRO9500MkII Inkjet Photo Printer (3298B002) Review

Canon Pixma PRO9500MkII Inkjet Photo Printer (3298B002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used the Epson R1800 (and the smaller R800) for several years and when it wasn't clogged it printed beautiful prints. The heads finally just clogged up and I was forced to get another printer. I have used other Canon products for decades so biased toward their products. I thought the Canon would be better on the clogging, and I haven't had it long enough to judge that yet. So far I am somewhat disappointed with the printer. There are two limitations so far that are signficant for my use.
I'm more interested in matte papers and fine art papers, and really don't print glossy. Getting used to this printer has been somewhat frustrating. I had been using Epson Presentation Matte and getting really nice prints from a relatively inexpensive paper with good dark blacks and good shadow detail. Duplicating that with Canon has been a challenge. I haven't been able to determine yet if it's the profiles or the printer. My next step is to try custom profiles. I have tried several brands (Ilford, Moab, Harmon) and their suppled profiles and for some of them the blues have a purple cast, and the blacks and shadow detail are muddy. The Canon fine art paper is very nice and matches well with color, good deep blacks and shadow detail(see limitation in next paragraph). So I have yet to find an acceptable photo matte combination.
This printer has a maddening limiation for fine art papers. Canon has decide to disable the ability to print on either end of the paper (requires a 35mm margin on each of the long ends, about 1.3 inches) so you can't even print an 8x10 out of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. When I called Canon I got a run around and no sensible explanation except the engineers decided to disable the function of the printer and no workarounds. So while the image quality of the Canon fine art rag is very good, it is very expensive to use because of this limitation (which requires you to use a much large piece of paper to get the size print you expect because of all the wasted paper, 13x19 piece of paper to get an 8x10 ). I have since found other reviews mentioning this limitation, and I sure wish I had seen it before purchasing. I don't know if you can fool it with custom profiles.
In general it has required far more work to try to find paper combinations than I ever experienced with Epson where the profiles and papers just seemed to work. I'm still hopeful that I can find the right combination with some customer profiles, but right now the jury is out.

Lexmark Genesis S815 All in One Printer with Flash Scan Technology Review

Lexmark Genesis S815 All in One Printer with Flash Scan Technology
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There is a lot to like here:
Pros
Setup is super easy for all the things this can do.
Nice applets
Fast for an ink jet
Easy paper handling
Wireless is stable...easy to setup. USB and Wireless can be both operable.
Good Color
Camera scanning is great. Fast, good quality despite the 300 dpi resolution. Most things look better than my canon scanner. Automatically orients scans...good for book scanning (you hang the book over the top and let it dangle...I do a lot of this and it works great).
The color touch screen is a joy to use and very responsive.
Cons
There is no way to stop the printer from waking from sleep when the phone rings. This is a ludicrous oversight. Every single time the phone rings the printer does its start up routine. Setting ANSWER in the FAX settings to OFF does nothing. Another user noticed this as well, and the most recent update does not change this. You must power down the printer completely to stop this. Printer initialization from power off takes several minutes.
This is not apple AirPlay compatible. There is a crude iOS app for printing photos and web pages...but web pages are accessed via the app by typing in the exact web address then printing. It is not a browser...nor will this print emails, other browser pages etc. Do not even think that the iOS capability is anything useful...it is not, and should not be considered a selling point. The Apple ads about printing *documents* on this printer are simply false. There is a hacker-type workaround for installing an Airplay driver on your PC (google it) but your desktop computer must be on for a mobile device to print. You cannot print from an iPad directly to the printer except with the crude Lexmark app (you can print normally from a laptop directly to the printer via wifi with the desktop off).
HD color images print very well..as well as any color photo printer i have had...but it drinks color ink ... ca. 10% per *full* color photo page with the included carts. Black is more miserly.
Overall, pricey. If you do not need the camera scan feature, and its terrific touch screen and app interface, it is overpriced.
PS
The price dropped $50 two days after I bought this machine and wrote this review.
Update:
Now I see it for about $120-150 less than I paid for it just weeks ago. I feel ripped off and now will never deal with Lexmark again.

Xerox Travel Scanner 100 Mobile 600 DPI USB Scanner (XTRAVEL-SCAN) Review

Xerox Travel Scanner 100 Mobile 600 DPI USB Scanner (XTRAVEL-SCAN)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I use a flat bed scanner at the office but, since I have started traveling much more, I wanted a portable solution to scanning receipts while on the road. This one got some good reviews and I liked the form factor. It will scan full 8.5x11 documents (common at hotels) as well as the small register tapes (restaurants, etc...). It's fairly quick, the images are perfect for submitting to my client, and it fits in my computer bag right next to my 17" laptop. The fact that it's powered directly through the USB cable is perfect - no extra AC adapter to carry.
The applications that come with it are great, too. I love the drag-and-drop approach to building my single PDF of all my receipts. My customers do too. Very easy to work with - everybody can read PDFs.
Only reason it doesn't rate a 5-star rating is because it has developed a habit of generating a faint line on scans wider than 2 inches. If I clean it before every use (about a 3-5 minute process since it requires multiple cleaning passes and test scans), it's under control and works like new. However, the line seems to continually recur and annoying. Not bad enough to ruin the scan but, still, it shouldn't be doing it at all. I may contact Xerox to see what they think but too busy just now to do so.
Not a complete replacement for your flatbed scanner if you need high quality photo scanning but excellent for everything else.
Highly recommended.

Epson Artisan 835 Color Inkjet All-In-One (C11CA73201) Review

Epson Artisan 835 Color Inkjet All-In-One (C11CA73201)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Artisan 835 to replace an HP C6280 that I'd had for about three years. Initially, I liked the HP printer. According to QualityLogic.com, the C6280 is one of HP's most economical printers in terms of cost of ink per page. However, I found that when it came to printing photos, the C6280 was hit and miss. Sometimes with a some experimentation, I could get a decent print. Other times, I'd give up in frustration after several tries. I also got inconsistent results with the C6280's scanner, and I found HP's software increasingly bloated and difficult to use.
I decided to get an Epson Artisan after reading what digital photographers said about the quality of its photo prints and looking at some samples prints at a local store. I was somewhat wary of reports that the Artisans were "ink hogs." Although I've used HP printers for many years, I was willing to give Epson a try. I've been very satisfied with my decision.
Setting up the 835 was a breeze. I have it networked to three wireless laptops, two wired desktop PCs and a wireless desktop PC. I was pleasantly surprised that installing Epson's software was fast and easy. The first test I performed was making a 4 x 6 print of a photo that I'd never been able to get quite right with my HP printer. To my amazement, the 835 produced a flawless print on the first attempt without any adjustments. I immediately tried some other prints, including a few 8 x 10s. Only in one case in which an image was not properly cropped did I feel the need to make more than one print. Printing photos is now a joy.
I found the scanner fast and easy to use. The scanning results are also impressive. The ability to create and print labels for CDs and DVDs is a welcome capability. The fax, duplexer, document feeder and PictBridge port (which can double as a USB charger) are useful features. The touch screen menu is very intuitive.
Although I think the Artisan 835 is worthy of five stars, it's not perfect. The paper drawer is flimsy and the simple act of properly aligning paper in it can be a pain. In printing two-sided documents on plain paper -- even when using 24-pound paper -- the ink sometimes bleeds or shows through. If document printing is your primary use, you might be happier with an HP printer. The 835 is a large printer, so make sure you have plenty of space before you buy it.
The most important thing I've learned is that when it comes to photo printers, "ink hog" is a relative term. Although the cost of prints produced by my HP C6280 are slightly less than those printed with the Artisan 835, the fact that I can almost always produce a high-quality print on the first attempt makes the overall cost of the 835's ink far less. For digital photographers who want an all-in-one that produces fantastic prints, the Artisan 835 is tough to beat.

Canon DR-3010C Duplex Sheetfed Scanner Review

Canon DR-3010C Duplex Sheetfed Scanner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this about four months ago, and am very satisfied. It works well
The unit set up easily and without a hitch. The ability to call up several pre-designated (by me) programs from buttons on the scanner is very nice (eg "1" is set up as 300 dpi b/w single sided to PDF, "2" is the same but double-sided, etc.) Very convenient. I have not had a problem with jams, and have scanned a fair number of sheets so far (I'd guess 5,000). I've also run some photos through, and it has done a good job of converting them to a 600 dpi .tif file. The unit is much more compact than the previous Canon sheet-fed scanner I was using and works well on my desk.
My only irritation is that if there is a jam (I have occasionally left staples in, etc.) it can't recover smoothly but just starts a new document. That has to be cleaned up later by opening the first document and then appending any others that have also been produced. Other scanners are more sophisticated in this, and I assume it it entirely a software issue that might eventually be resolved.
I try to run a mostly paperless office, and this is the third sheet-fed scanner I have owned. It is the least expensive, and definitely the best. Highly recommended.

Penpower Portable Color Business Card Scanner for Mac and PC (WorldCard Mac Plus) Review

Penpower Portable Color Business Card Scanner for Mac and PC (WorldCard Mac Plus)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used other card scanners for year (maybe decades) and this is the worse. It doesn't recognize about 6-12 characters on each card and doesn't break out street, city, state and zip code, instead it just puts it on one line separated by a single comma or several commas (even if they are on different lines). I switch because I was forced to move to Apple and my old scanner didn't work with my new Macbook, but I'm going back to CardScan. What a waste of time.
Note- not recognizing a couple characters, one might think that it is a bad item, but not being able to separate street, city or state tells me that they have lousy, immature SW.
